(You probably know all that, but for the benefits of other members, I explain smile )
Yes, iso 1600 tends to be noisy. I usually use NeatImage to clean up photos from the noise (or film grain). I found it to work much better than noise reduction provided by Capture NX.
And for the motion blur I found that if I shoot in sequences (i.e. several frames at once) I increase the chance of capturing 'still' moment thus getting better image.
