notes:
Antonio Aleixo (1899-1949) was an extraordinary Portuguese popular poet, born in the Algarve town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio,
in the southern part of the country.

Lottery seller, shephard and popular singer, this near-illiterate poet left a truly impressive work, rich in the correctness
of the language and concise expression.

Master of an unbelievable spontaneity, he wrote in the most varied situations and occasions.

As an example, savour this delicious quartet:

Eu nao sei porque razao/certos homens a meu ver/quanto mais pequenos sao/maiores querem parecer
(I don`t know why / certain men in my view / the smaller they are / the bigger they want to seem)

Excellent image and report from this Portuguese popular poet ..
(um abraco, Amigo Brites dos Santos - sugeria-lhe que nao usasse til, c com cedilha, etc, quando transcrevesse qualquer coisa em Portugues pois o resultado pode ser esquisito)
Thank you for this nice piece of Poetry ..
