сложная история у этого места... даже сейчас нечто зловещее в воздухе висит. с одной стороны эта утка раздражает, кажется, что она совсем ни к месту. но с другой она вроде даже символична - унялись все-таки страсти на Соловках. а отражение в воде, знаете, Китеж напоминает...

it`s a place with a complicated history... even now something ominous seems to hang in the air. on the one hand, this duck is almost an annoyance, it looks out of place. but on the other hand, it may even be symbolic - the horrors that took place there are now history. and, you know, the reflection in the water is reminiscent of Kitezh (an essential Russian legend)
