Chater-Doug (Ukr Chatir-Dag krymskotat. Çatır Dağ, Chater Dag) - Massif (Yayla), located in the southern Crimean peninsula, 10 km from the sea, the fifth in height in the Crimea, is one of the main ridge of the Crimean mountains . The upper complex of limestone, formed from deposits of warm seas of the upper Jurassic and underlying red-brown conglomerates. The thickness of these limestones reaches 1000 meters. The conglomerates, in turn, lie on the impermeable strata of the lower floors - and the Lower Jurassic sediments verhnetriasovogo age. She is known by the name of Taurian series and consists of rhythmically alternating green and black shales, siltstones and sandstones. These rocks are widely distributed throughout the southern and south-western coast of Crimea.
