I have just finished shooting a series on street life here in Melbourne.The main focus of the work was on marginalised groups such as drug addicts,prostitutes,people with mental illness and so forth.This project was begun on Xmas Day 1999 and the work is to be exhibited in October 2003.
The person in this image is a suffering from schzophrenia ,who lived in a sparse one bedroom flat.He sat by a window smoking most of the day. A small B&W TV sat on the end of his bed.A person from a church welfare group would come with a meal,help him with his medication and tend to his laundry needs.He gently sat by the window smoking as I took his photograph.

very good portreit, good light and very interesting face. Its a pitty but very low contrast.

Its too dark just a little bit..I can`t see his eyes and temper...But..it`s nice portrait at all
