Strange thing. I think you were manipulating in Photoshop or some other program with this picture. I just see the borders of the face are still highlighted which breaks all my mood about this your work. It could be much better if you edit it a bit more carefully. And again, and again: Composition. In my own opinion the knees should be visible and not being cut like you have them on the picture. From another point, it`s a good picture, the kid has visible sharp eyes which is perfect. But it seems he is a little bit scared of your camera..
