This shot was taken in Birkenau the Nazi “KC-Camp” in Poland this summer.
A horrible place to visit, but even though that you see this
place it`s hard to believe that so much horror and had tress
took place.

This picture was made with one purpose to give the viewer
a feeling that he/she saw a picture from that time.

The shot was made with a Kodak iso 3200 and red filter. I scanned the picture as
a Monochrome VX iso 400 and cloned the all the tourists away.

The composition is rather centred but I thought it was the way to make this shot.

I hope everyone out there is feeling great and that we’ll never be witness to this again.

You have captured in this shot the impact of the horrific past that has occurred there.
The balance of the composition...the entrance that seems to hungrily gape...the light...a very chilling scene indeed.
This photo speaks/screams loudly.
If the "Winds of War" is ever published again this would be a quite fitting book cover.
Let us never forget...and proceed in this life from historical lessons, hopefully, learned.
