notes:
Welcome to a few frames from my life...a few of the places I have been...a few of my travels documented...and a few of the images I felt were important to capture.
There is no such thing as a bad photograph...regardless of the exposure...the clarity...the format...every image gives the viewer something. Whether it is a fleeting impression, the recording of a moment in time, or the documentation of a person or place...there is always something to be taken from an image.
What does photography mean to me...well...it means alot. A roll of film is a blank canvas...to be filled in any number of ways...and no brushes to clean afterwards! The destination doesn't have to be world's away...any destination will do.
Some of the things I have come to realize about the things that surround us are rather amazing...at least to me. When I loaded my first roll of black and white film into my camera a few years ago, architecture was the main focal point. Buildings, historic places, homes and other architectural details translate well into a black and white format...but who knew that natural settings -- trees, rocks and flowers could also be remarkable black and white subjects? I sure didn't! Ask me what the main essence of a flower is and I used to think colour...but alas, shape, texture, light, shadow and contrast are equally important.
