The idea is wonderful & well done except I feel the inconsistency of light and tonal quality of the checkerboard pattern really detracts. Your creativity is to be applauded.

I like this though I think something is a little wrong with the checkerboard. Maybe it would have been better to just let the checkerboard layout flat and disappear into the distance... Well what do I know anyway...
