I am not so sure about composition, but colors and lightning are great

I agree with 4yl about the lightning

Fetching, airy pattern, Rene. A seemly view from your window.

What beautiful colors, and I love the geometrics of the twigs, which I think gives it a very nice composition. smile

a pattern for what
for cloth
for autumn sky
for a much-used computer screen

what is photography
just like any other thing it has to be defined
why
some might retort
well you figure that out yourselves
just like painting or poetry it has to be defined so that you know what you have to deal with and why and how to approach it and where and also when and whether you are ready for the great endeavour and your hand clean and your throat clean and your heart clean and your mind clean and all the light around no matter how dim pure as hell
what is it that makes a picture good
does it have to be sharp
does it have to go for all the laws of composition that we diligently borrow from the grand old maters that have spread their flesh and soul on canvas in either delicate or the thickest swiftest most careless strokes or both or in-between or thereabout
does it have to display colours never encountered before
does it have to put together things that do not normally belong/go together
does it - does it have to show ordinary things in a new light
from a different perspective
different angle
does it have to show things never ever seen by any bloody mortal before
does it have to make one cry or merry or sad or sublimely angry
does it have to carry the right social comment/criticism
does it have to give realistic accounts
does it have to inform correctly
does it have to tell you beautiful lies
does it have to be an illusion to twist your eye forever to knock you down to beguile
does it have to leave you breathless/speechless
does it have to move and touch and stir in any other way
what does this picture here do to people
is it worthwhile looking at
how do we know if we say yes
that we are not mistaken
