The intention was to shoot a photo that looks like a painting. I used 3 different light sources - no filters were needed.

The lowkey lighting is perfect for this shot. Excellent complementary background!

that`s very very nice, Peter! I only doubt that white/pink thing on the left and a bit lower from the main object.... Superb picture, anyway!

Peter, I like the background in this very much. It does have a certain feel reminiscent of still life`s by the so-called Old Masters. I do envision some possible compositional and cropping variations. In other words, I have doubts about - centrality of the berry and the vastness of dark space on the bottom and upper right. I also wish the berry was illuminated slightly more. (also, That lighter spot on the left looks rather strange - accidental?). I think this is a great, great idea that is worth experimenting with further. Sorry for sounding out of sync with the others, I hope you don`t mind smile

Thank you, Alenka - It is a big compliment that you compare it with a still life of Old Masters. The centrality of the berry is in my eyes at the right place - it is only not such an encouragement that you don`t give a rating again.....but I am not angry about you! smile )

An interesting approach...When the image started scrolling down, I immediately saw a pumpkin with those two bright spots, being the glowing eyes....I know it`s a berry...but...my mind saw something else initially..nice effects..

actually it is a funny shot, I laugh when I see it, it looks like pumpkin, that didn`t want to be a usual pumpkin, and decided to grow on a tree... beautiful color composition

I like the idea, here, Peter. There are some interesting shapes. Maybe a bit sombre for my taste. Having the main subject in the dead centre of the frame is not always a good idea...would maybe work better if picture was cropped to rectangular shape, preferably with the berry off centre (though that may not be possible the way you have taken this). Hope this helps!
