This is another splendid public park in Sintra, which Lord Byron and Francis Cook imbued with a certain mythical quality!
The eccentric Sir Francis Cook bought this "Quinta", palace and gardens, in 1856 to the family Melo e Castro and imported more than a thousand rare plants from all over the world, transporting them to Portugal on greenhouse ships!
