Excellent shot !!
Wow! Well captured!
A truly magnificent piece of nature photography
A truly magnificent piece of nature photography - so how much of the frame was this?
Fascinating catch of the fish and Kingfisher, Steven.
Thanks all for the kind words...This is full frame, shot from behind a blind at about 20 ft away. I don`t really have a full blown editing program like Photoshop, so I had to make due with what I had. I would imagine some of you experts out there could really bring out the detail in some of the darker areas and also tone down the brighter background.
Once behind the blind, with a cooperative Kingfisher, the shot is rather easy. Most of the effort is spent in scouting the kingfishers home territory for a good low perch with an acceptable background. Once found it`s simly a matter of waiting, and waiting..... While they are extremely skittish ( I have never gotten a shot without using the blind, even with full camo) , they are also predictable, on a daily basis using the exact same spot on the same branch to perch on.
Steve
