Few people know how skittish these birds are- they usually fly away before you get your photo. Well done. Excellent shot. In a perfect world it would have been nice if the bird landed on a nicer perch just a bit lower. These Kingfishers are the same as ours in North America except for the coloring. Did you use a tripod for this shot or do you have the IS or RS lens?
