Very lovely portrait, Mary! Great color contrast of eyes to nosetip!
Those deep eyes so mysterious...

Here is where less is more; the eyes are the composition centers with the nose and mouth creating a dynamics of eye movement.

it is unconditional all right
the problem is some do not experience the feeling at all

i remember our last cat
my parents have another one now very nice himself but i am thinking of the black one who disappeared last winter (it was a harsh one lots and lots of now for weeks on end almost like this year and father said maybe snow fell from off the roof of some building and caught him under... but we all hoped - still do... - the cat was someplace safe in a shed or somebody`s house and would be well treated and everything)
i called him moses and a good name was that though i cannot explain why
he used to be very wild when he was very young our hands and arms would be full of thin long red scars even bit my eyebrow once he did not like to be messed with only enjoyed a little scratching under the chin otherwise would tolerate us only if - and as long as - we gave him food
somewhat typical for cats don`t you think
as time went by he was not that ready to produce his awesome claws and teeth anymore he would only bang his tail to show his - ever-growing -irritation or push you swiftly with his paw warning you next time there would be claws too or grab you by the hand with his jaws without really biting - yet another warning
great cat great great personality
and a big cat too
somehow our cats were usually bigger than others of - more or less - the same kind

I have a "thing" about eyes Mary. Any type of eye and these green ones are just superb. A super sharp detailed facial shot and its just gorgeous IMO. The colouring is just magic. What a face. Excellent work and close cat facials are not that easy to get or take. Well done on a superb job. The lighting is purr-fect smile

Danny.
