Buenos Aires is at the Rio de la Plata… one of widest river in the world… at its port, there is a special neighbourhood called "la Boca"… (Boca=mouth.. mouth of the river)..
At that place, immigrants arrived at end of 19th and early 20th century, searching for better conditions…
They found a new home, but also poorness, hunger... they lived at precarious houses, made with metal sheets and wood, but the pain of uprooting didn’t prevent them to paint them colourful…
Inside these houses, along the streets, watching the brown waters of the river, it was created a new music: the tango... a mix of old folk argentine songs, and the melodies and melancholic words those immigrants had brought deep inside them.
Those houses still exist, many inhabited, and despite tourists and despite bad governors that does not care about... La Boca still keeps the soul of that people… simple, full of life and hopes...
