This is a very interesting photo. The line if the cigarette draws my eye in, towards the open hand. The extended thumb almost acts like an extension to this line, drawing my eye to that of the figure. However, when I arrive here I am disappointed to find the eye out of focus. Is there a reason why you would focus on the cigarette instead of the eye? Is the cigarette the subject?
This pose is one that could depict "a moment of thought" but I don`t necessarily get that impression here. It was the bold b/w that first attracted me to this photo but I don`t see anything here that warrants such a strange composition.
The large black line behind the hand is also distracting. Sorry O cpould not be more positive. I think you did well to draw the viewers eye to the center of the photo, you just didn`t complete the process.
