Photo uploaded in the retired version ( the photo has vanished as well) and replaced now.
This is the first photo of a series including six photos about Alfama made in 2001. Alfama is a typical quarter of old Lisbon sited in direct way from the medieval castle to the bank of river Tejo. Their topography is the same since 14th century. Alfama is probably the most photographed place in Lisbon but it’s a temptation to catch something different or at least to capture the one’s own vision about things well known for everyone else. This first image is an approach to the theme like in movie of the Swiss director Alain Tanner titled “White City” located in Alfama.
