The church of Roeros
PanoPhoto of 4 images. Roeros is a 370 year old copper mine town. This church is from 1780.
Roeros is in the mountain part of my region of Norway. The history of this town is very rich and on of the most famous writer of Norway, Johan Falkberg has written many books and stories from this very special society and the hard life it was in this mountain region during the mine period. During the winter in this mountain region the temperature very often is from -15 to -35 degree. It is a very special light in this mountains and to day very much people of different type of arts is living in this town and show there inspiration of the town and region in there art. Many painters have also make paints from this town and to day this is a part of the histories of Norway. To day they also have concerts in the mine for the tourist. The old part of Roeros is to day on the list of UNESCO for places how have to be saved for the future.
