Trancoso is situated on a foothill from where it is possible to see beautiful beaches, cliffs, rivers and coconut groves. It is 26km far from Porto Seguro and the access is by an unpaved road. Besides the natural beauties, the town has also a great cultural and historical legacy to offer to tourists. The town used to be a small village founded by the Jesuits, who imposed their habits on the local people. Thanks to this domination, the city has a very specific architecture with a church surrounded by houses built very close to each other, forming a big square called "Quadrado", which is one of the most valuable historical sites on the Discovery Coast.

Almost 500 years after its foundation, Trancoso now watch the "invasion" of tourists from all over the world, who go to the town searching for sun, sea, peace and History.
