The name of the Kenozero Park is associated with Vershinino village, the biggest settlement in the northern sector of the Park. Here in 12-15th cc. ran the routes of the Novgorodian settlers and Russian ethnographers of the 19th century collected rich folklore heritage of the local people. Many scientists observed and studied everyday life, hard work and customs in the area. The Kenozero peasants were considered to be kind, sincere and most gifted in terms of worldly wisdom.
