Very strange but at same time excellent !

Стебелек и пушистый бутончик хороши, а вот белые лепестки у меня на мониторе без теней и фактуры, как пластмасса sad smile

Hmmm.... Alenka, I do not know what to say...Hmmm...
.I think here I am on the limits of my understanding of photography!
On the one hand I like the graphical composition and the color contrasts
very much. Some kind of unusual setting, very dynamic, the soft colors and the flower ,very sensitive!
... but after long looking again and again I cannot help: I still wish the flower to be more sharp.
Sorry Alenka, for not rating here, but I really cannot make up my mind here...

Насколько Ваши названия соответствуют работам...
Я поражаюсь каждый раз....Попадание настолько точное, что нет слов...
И завидуешь этой Вашей способности...То, о чем идет речь --- потрясающе!

Sorry Alenka, I feel the same way as Rene smile It is not just the washed out unsharp flower which bothers me, but also the distracting yellow stalk behind.

Is it necessary to understand each photo with our `logical` mind? I don`t think so - I like it! There is also a lot depth in.

It looks like somehow funny in first moment but the perspective you chose for this bloom makes all too flat. The photo is without sharpness or shadows and also has no graphical effects or textures. It neither can convince me in any of these 3 criterias nor tells me anything. I really don`t know what you wanted. I`m sorry Alenka sad smile

The reaction to this image has been extremely interesting and entirely unexpected. I`ve thought a lot about what each one of you has said and have looked back to the photo dozens of times to reconsider each mentioned aspect... Woe onto me -- this happens to be one of my most favorite photographs! smile I`m simply in love with it smile ) And it`s not something I feel toward many of my photos...
I know it defies some photographic canons, but I find something so irresistibly appealing in its quietitude, timidity, modesty. I love looking at it because it gives me peace and warms my heart... Go figure..! smile
I`m very much thankful to all of you for your sincerity, for sharing your opinions and critiques. They give me much desired food for thought. Please don`t apologize for not rating it or not enjoying it! Candor is so much more important. Sure, I wish more of you felt the way I do about the photo, but I`m fully OK with the fact that, perhaps, it`s not meant to be. Maybe not yet...:)
To address some specific points raised - 1st off -- the image was intentionally blurred to create a desired mood yet maintain clarity as well. Yes, most of the flower is without many details (although some are most certainly noticeable - i.e. it is _not_ washed out, I believe...) but I feel that greater illumination would have made for an entirely different image... Compare this to my earlier shot - F.l.o.w.e.r.s - these two were taken within inches and minutes of each other. The other one is somewhat of an eye-candy, while this -- to me - is more of food for soul. Or... maybe I`m imagining it all...:) In any case, the illusion, if it is such, is sweet smile
Thanks again, everybody!....:)

A, it`s late, I`m late. I am always late nowadays. Maybe that`s why I love to look at this one, and see things others do not. Minutes before, blossoms beginning, moments discarded. Fairies dancing. Abstract thoughts, stems of hope, soaking in peace and stillness ~ illusions~ captured.

Название.. да... но, фон он очень сильно отвлекает на себя и сам цветок, наверное хотелось бы или лучше видеть всю его структуру и ли тогда что то ну очень резко, а остальное всё ну очень размыто...
