notes:
Utah is full of "slot" canyons. These are the colorful remains of water run-off that have twisted and carved the sandstone landscape. Some still have water, some only carry water seasonally. This is Peekaboo Slot Canyon by Escallante Utah. If you hike these, it is always good to have a buddy along. If not to help you get through the most dificult points, then to help you make it home safely. One rock that slips and hits you or pins you can spell disaster. I'm sure everyone has heard the story of the one hiker two years ago who ventured out alone, was pinned by a rock, broke his arm and then amputated it with a knife so he could get to a place where he could be found. Unfortunately there is no reference for scale in this photo other than I am standing fully upright inside Peekaboo taking this photo. As you are seeing this I am probably off living in the wild. Forgive me if it takes a week to get back to you all. Even though I am out getting new photos and enjoying sites like this, I am missing seeing the world through your photos... A part of me is anxious to get back and see what you have posted in my absence.
