Deer Pass is in the heart of the South Chilcotin mountains of British Columbia. This is remote riding at it's best; the nearest road to this spot is about 30 km. however, the veiws are worth the effort. Another time I'll post what is seen when you reach the top and start into the next valley. What you may not see on the web page is the red dot in the distance on the trail (near the treeline). That is my wife, Karen, whose birthday (I won't mention which one) it was that morning . To celibrate, I tied a red balloon to her helmet for the day's ride. To her credit, it stayed on until the end of the day, when we camped at a lake about 3 hours from this spot. (That night, I had a cake flown in for the party that followed).
