Replaced all the basics on my PC, and my data drives survived! So I am back finally.

I liked this view of the Barn owl, because you can see its similarity to other raptors.
This is definately a captive Barn Owl. Why? These guys generally don't do anything in the daylight except hide in old buildings, a hollow tree or a hole in a rocky cliff. The old building siestas are probably where the name came from. There are other names such as the "White Owl" and "Monkey-faced Owl" people have tagged on to it. Being the most nocturnal of Owls, they wait until dark before starting out to hunt using their incredible hearing to strike at their prey in the total darkness. Mice and rodents are a favorite meal. They have no ear tufts, dark eyes and a heart shaped white facial ruff. They can gow to be 20 inches (50 cm or so) in height. They do not make hooting noises, but rather a raspy hiss.

What a wonderful shot, Chig!!!
In italian, this bird is called BARBAGIANNI (barba = beard; gianni = John)... very strange, don't you think?? wink
You've captured it in an excellent way!!
Sincere congrats to you!
