Taking a brief break form posting the Southwestern USA... If you are going to take a photo on the Niagra River of Horseshoe falls, Bridal Falls or American Falls you can bet your lens will get wet. Try as I might not to get a water spot, I had a few. However I was really interested in the power of the water below in the river and at the point the water started its decent down at the top. This is Horseshoe Falls from below. Am I in Canada, or New York, USA at the time I took this? I don't know. I am pretty sure I am soaked to the bone while taking this photo.

i am sure you were!.. impressively strong! how height are the Falls ?

The Falls are very wide. I think that is why they appeal to people. Some of the waterfalls we have in our neck of the woods are much taller, but are no where near as wide. My only regret is the day we were there for these falls it was overcast, and I have no idea how they look in full sunlight.

love to see them. did you get any from the tunnel under the falls on the Candian side? My shots from there toward the other falls and the Maid of the Mist came out, but there was way too much water aerosolized to get the Horseshoe Falls. from there. I was really interested it getting a low angle shot of those falls.
