Photo Bosphorus by Nada Vujanic

The Bosphorus, is a strait that forms the boundary between the European part of Turkey and its Asian part. The world's narrowest strait used for international navigation, it connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara. It is approximately 30 km long, and a minimum width of 700 meters between. It`s name is associated with a Greek myth:
One day, Zeus noticed virgin Io, and he lusted after her. Some say she rejected his advances until he caused her own father to drive her out into the fields. Here, Zeus covered her with clouds to hide her from the eyes of his jealous wife, Hera, who nonetheless came to investigate. In a vain attempt to hide his crimes, Zeus turned himself into a white cloud and transformed Io into a beautiful white heifer. Hera was not fooled. She demanded the heifer as a present and placed Io in the charge of Argus(the many-eyed monster) to keep her separated from Zeus. Zeus commanded Hermes to kill Argus. Hera then forced Io to wander the earth without rest, plagued by a gadfly to sting her into madness. Io eventually crossed the path between Propontis and Black Sea , which thus took the name Bosphorus (meaning ox passage).
So Ladies, do not mess around with married man, you see what can happen!
