i beleive it's not a question of crop. it's rather question of exposure, you've lost a little bit details in darks and in lights

bittner, take a look at the photo "sunny tea". I'm sure you'll like it more. in this very photo I wanted to show sun in the tea:)

I totally agree with you, I also prefer "sunny tea" but I wanted to post both shots, just to see who would prefer what... thanks for your comments!!!!!
