..... cos the sunset is far better !

I put up one from this collection ages ago, but it drew very little comment. Maybe now that I have learned a bit more of how to adjust images, this one will generate some "critique". Only thing I'm not sure about, is that the angler is basically a silhouette. Should he be brought into the limelight a bit more ?

I like it for the amazing sky, contrasting against the rather bleak but obvious foreground.

The angler was an old boy kind of reminiscing that the fishing was so much better many years ago, and that now, the seabed is all but barren! Doing a little fishing now and then myself, I had to concur with him.

And maybe this is why I now don the camera instead of the fishing rod so often. At least with a camera, you get some kind of result.

Great title !
The sky draws the eye first.. I like the fisherman being only a silhouette- very good contrast, good mood in it too,
/what do you catch there?/

The most common types of fish caught around here are wrasse (a bony but colourful reef and rocks dweller up to maybe 6lbs), pollock (member of the cod family up to 10lbs), bass (great for eating, good fighter for sportsmen, up to 10lbs). And in the summer months we get mackerel and garfish.

It is extremely rare now to catch sole or plaice, or for that matter any kind of flatfish. Two reasons for this, 1. the large commercial fishing boats have swept clean the breeding grounds offshore with trawl nets, and 2. the rise in sea temperature by 1 degree over the last 20 odd years means the flatties are not coming inshore.

I love fishing, but it ain't what it used to be simply because of diminished stocks. I think it's the same problem worldwide.

Cameron, красивая композиция с перистыми облаками и играющим морем! Совсем не обязательно освещать фигуру на переднем плане! И примечание хорошее!
