Here we have a sense of false security. other countries KNOW that there is no such thing as perfect security. But as a country that is in denaial. We must lock up everything. If we are so secure , then why must we lock up anything at all. Oh well , those are the days of long ago where we could go on vacation and leave our front door open. i hope that with this photo I can get a good discussion going.

Absolutely agree! Here in Russia many of the people thinks they are secure if everithing is locked and metallic # on the windows. So often they live like in jail.

Full security is a dream or an illusion... It does not exist anywhere

I am in my mid-forties, and I also recall in my ´teen years how we could leave the front door open, the keys in the car with the windows wound down in the car park, and the money for the milkman outside on the doorstep overnight. Why we have to now hermetically seal ourselves in our prison homes, and not carry cash around at all, is tantamount to greed from those who want to take your things illicitly, and a significant drop in social values.
There was a time when you could trust nearly everybody, now the converse is true.
Yury above mentioned how people in Russia have a very high level of security in the their homes. How right he is. I have seen it for myself, it is absolutely stunning.
