Photo her shadow will not answer! by silvia marmori

Over three thousand years ago an Egyptian wrote about his country:
"Its fields are full of good things and it has provision for every day
Its ponds are full of fishes and its lakes of birds.
He who lives there is happy,
And the poor man is like the great elsewhere. "

Time passed.. and at a huge, old Cemetery at Cairo, called “city of deads”, thousands souls live now among tombs.. I captured there this image..
I chose some verses of the Egyptian poet:
Salah abdel Sabour,
" Excuse me, friends, the trees did not fruit this year
So, I brought you the worst food
I am not stingy, only my stores are empty
Wasted are my fields of wheat. "

Excelente composicion, color y captura exacta la mujer lamentandose y el niño mirando con indiferencia, entre las limitaciones del lugar, pero con la riqueza de la religión de fondo. Hay otras fotos de Egipto que no me gustan tanto.

...great colors...should be some color manipulation on your part...this place I believe is pretty gray in reality...

...sad, but fascinating story... door of this tiny store is shut, and who knows what hopes were shuttered on that day...

not a lot manipulation.. tones were those.. here attached image without retouch, only resized..
if you see, the composition wasn't so good, but the taxi didn't want to let me go out.. he didn't even want to stop the car.. he said: dangerous quarter..
so, i could only use 1/1000 to freeze a bit the scene.. and just shoot.. (my mistake, i had 200 ISO from before and forgot to change it)
i cropped, i add sharpness and contrast and i cloned some few details when cropping..
i also darken a bit the left hand side.. but not so much.. i wanted to centre attention at the old lady..
