Silly me, I was almost convinced this is NYC before I read your comment. Compositionally it`s very very nice, and mood-wise as well. I would simply like to see the people`s figures a little better - not to the point of seing textures and details, but simply illuminated a bit more.
Very nice shot!
Lot of contrast and still a lot of lovely grey tones. I like it a lot!
Beautiful shot...I like it.
Good tonal composition.
thank you for your extremely kind reaction to my comments on your pictures
as well as for your promptness - it is so rare today
i really meant every word i said so i am very glad they meant something to you too
i am looking forward to receiving the black-and-white photograph you said you would send me
i have already seen some of your black-and-whites - i visited the other sites hosting your photographs namely your own website at http://www.antoniopaulo.web.pt as well as your gallery at http://www.fotografia.em.pt, that is, http://www.fotografia.em.pt/uk/lista_temas.asp?autor=1268
the black-and-white photograph that you have here on photoforum - "As Time Goes By" - is also a very good one i like it how people there cannot be distinguished from people elsewhere this makes it general it makes it speak to everybody we can all be there or they could be our friends and us contemplators only then you have the tree bare of leaves which could speak about the end but also if the tree is about to have leaves again about how life is a cycle if the tree is truly dead one should not feel overwhelming grief as other trees will come to replace this one (one is already around - the upper right-hand corner of the picture) there is also he river there which again is a universal symbol of life and continuity and improvement and the bridge which gives hope and encouragement - gaps can be narrowed and eventually conquered
relationships established
ps maybe i would also like to see it with some of the lower branches and leaves on the left edited out
if that - the thought crosses my mind right now - were done to the upper ones as well one would get a strange continuation of the branches of the tree on the right
Very, very good!
Well done!
Very good picture, but the tree in the left should have been left out of the image, beside that it`s very nice.
