The manor is located 5.3 km southwest of Haapsalu (Haapsalu), near the Haapsalu-Rohuküla highway.
The building is a three-storey building of limestone in the neo-baroque style, designed in 1904 by Tallinn architect E. Schwartz. The central part of the building was crowned by a four-story stone tower, the shako of which, in its form, was a reduced copy of the baroque shako of Tallinn church Niguliste.
The knightly estate Linden (Linden) was originally part of the estate Wittenhove (Wittenhove). Since 1523, as an independent estate, was owned by the Herkel family (Herkel). As a result of inheritance at the beginning of the 17th century, the patrimony passed to Ungern-Sternberg (Ungern-Sternberg), who owned it from 1623 to 1802 and from 1878 to 1919. In the 1630s a stone manor house was built.
Peter I visited the manor on July 20/31 or July 21 / August 1, 1715. He was received by the widow of the leader of the Estland nobility R. Ungern-Sternberg Augusta Sophia and treated him to liqueur in a park under an old oak tree. According to legend, Peter was accidentally poured into a glass with the monogram of Charles XII. Noticing the mistake, the approximate tried to replace the glass. Peter turned everything into a joke, after drinking from it for Karl XII. Peter examined the park and the famous orchard, talked to the gardener and, according to legend, planted a tree in it.
In 1893, instead of the old one-story stone building, construction began on a new non-baroque house, which looked like a castle. The model for the construction was partly the Merseburg Palace and the Villa Borchardt in Baden-Baden by architect L.L. Bonstedt (Bohnstedt). Construction work was delayed, and because of World War I were not completed. The house, which had stood empty for decades and was damaged during the Great Patriotic War, was gradually destroyed in the 1940s – 1960s. Now only its walls are preserved. The once large park has almost completely disappeared.
After the war and until 1991, the manor was at the disposal of the Haapsalu military airfield, since 2001 - in private ownership. It has security status

никакого национализма,шовинизма и прочее... в послевоенной истории этого места на самом деле не всё так просто и однозначно.
вот так гласит история эта ,я думаю ,правдивая,в разговорах местных жителей,конечно,чуть подогретая национализмом,Но больше неприязнью непонятного идиотизма командования аэродрома....вот о чём речь...
"После окончания Второй мировой войны в Хаапсалу построили военный аэродром и замок Унгру попал в руки советских войск, после этого, он начал разрушаться ещё быстрее, и в 1960-ых годах замок превратился в развалины. В 1968 году, старший аэродрома решил использовать стоящие без пользы развалины, он приказал взять камни замка и наполнить ими взлётную полосу. Местным властям, всё же, удалось приостановить работы по сносу развалин, но к этому времени, больше трети развалин замка успели снести. Оставшиеся развалины, к счастью, сохранились до наших дней. В наши дни развалины замка привели в относительный порядок, эти развалины вызывают разительный контраст с развалинами строений аэродрома. Большой парк при замке тоже, практически, уничтожен, в парке осталось всего несколько деревьев."

Люблю такие развалины... Красивый фасад можно сохранить и к нему достроить здание, здесь так делают... smile

спасибо.Здесь такое тоже бывает),но в этом случае пока всё вот так,вообще ракурсов много,там на самом деле очень всё грустно,хотя видно что что то сделали чтоб дальше не обрушалось smile flower handshake
