is stronger than the anger
unleashed
by lifetimes of hatred
and cannot be torn down
like bricks and mortar
glass and steel

and the lives lost
to that anger
will be reborn in our memories
as we stop to remember
this day
when the red, red rose
is reborn next spring

i come to this rather late
for that reason or for others i do not associate it with terror
not that kind of terror the date speaks about anyway
i associate it with how people destroy the planet - the rose `cannot be torn down/ like bricks and mortar/ glass and steel` (your poem says)
i say concrete will one day cover the face of the earth even the seas and oceans will be enveloped they will have their billows perish ridiculously under a coat of cement or other material that will never die
roses will be rare as diamonds today

i find the idea of the red rose on the red background great indeed
