The white chalk cliffs on the island of Ruegen. The painter Caspar David Friedrich made one of his world famous paintings of exactly this view. If you compare my photo with his painting, you will see, what the sea washed away from the cliffs in the last two centuries...

Creativity Caspar David Friedrich to me, unfortunately, not familiarly. From what it(he) the countries, what century and what school?
Only I think: on his(its) landscape light is put better, than in your photo. Anyway in a small picture which I observe in интернете all foreground, is especial at the left DARK.

Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) was a german painter, who made a romantic painting of this view in 1818. You can have a look at the painting here: http://www.kunstimnetz.de/friedric/fri1502.htm
Ruegen, the place, were my photo and Friedrich`s painting were taken, is a german island in the baltic sea. A place to spend holidays...
