The wings proved to be the greatest challenge in this picture but I am pleased to share how I did them. To start with I made a drawing of how I saw the shape of the wings, drew in the veins and then delicately coloured them with watercolours. I then photographed my picture put it into photoshop, made a selection of the painting and dragged it on to the "Fairy". Scaled it to fit and erased the parts I did not need. In layers I reduced the opacity until just a hint of the grass behind could be seen. I then used "Plastic wrap" to give the gossamer effect. You have to play around a little to get the final effect.
