Alenka is a photographer I respect very much, and one of the few people from various photo-sites whom I count among my friends. In many of her photographs, I am drawn to a particularly interesting combination of consistent technique and the ability to show familiar objects in unusual ways as well as award them with uncharacteristic meaning and substance. Her photos, accompanied by witty and keen titles and commentaries, are always interesting to me, although I fully accept and relate to not nearly all that she does.
Alenka`s works motivate me to examine objects to which I normally relate only as a consumer. Naturally, I have tried to photograph them as well. It turned out that I cannot capture things in Alenka`s ways. I see things quite differently. The series "Alenka`s Themes" is the result of these attempts. I myself still feel strange and uneasy about some of them.
In this series, I break my rule of not giving individual titles to photos.
