This animal is 6 meters wide. They allow divers a very close approach, but even with 20 mm wide angle it does not fit into the frame. Two flashes are not enough anyhow to lighten it properly. Visibility is bad because of plankton. By the way we can only see the creature because it is attracted by plankton. Nikon F100 with Nikkor 20/2.8 in Aquatica housing, 2 Sea&Sea flashes: 120 and 350, FujiChrome Velvia 50 (my favorite). It`s a pity that the resort where the picture was taken is completely destroyed by Tsunami and won`t be functional for a long time.

They are not dangerous: vegetarians. Yes, it`s difficult: 1) you need a fisheye (I have SIGMA fisheye which doesn`t fit into my Aquatica housing) while I only have 20 mm; 2) flash unlikely will reach it 3) they are rare beasts; 4) whenever they appear visibility is likely to be bad because they are feeding on plankton (good visibility - no manta) and the current is strong.

I`ve forgotten the most important factor. To have a good underwater picture you usually need a model diver in the composition. This is especially valid for big fish to give the feeleing of scale.
