Jan Hus monument

This modern monument (1915) is in contrast at Old Town Square in Prague with gothic and baroque style. In this shot I chose a baroque background to illustrate the polemical integration. But the important here is the remembrance of Jan Hus preacher and rector of Prague University in XIV and XV centuries he was burnt alive in 1415.
The British History righter W. G. Wells ( yes he is the same of The Invisible Man or The Time Machine) in The Outline of History considered Jan Hus like martyr of free intelligence and free conscientiousness of man kind.
I put this shot today about the anniversary of Portuguese revolution in April 25th, 1974 when Portugal regained the freedom after decades of obscurantist fascism regimen.
