Nezhegol - not usual river, but especial river system, consisting of three nearly equal rivers (Nezhegol, Korocha and Koren), each of which has a length 70-75 km. Whole this system are located within Belgorod region, connects all these water in one riverbed and merges them in Severskiy Donec with left coast.
Nezhegol - dry on root, mownnot herb. So with receipts in these edges of the russian population word "nezhegol" had a miscellaneous use: they named and river, and dry herb.
