And what about this one?
Is it “Poseidon” or “Neptune”?
In Greek mythology he is “Poseidon” but to the Romans he was known as “Neptune” and for the Etruscans as “Nethuns”.
God of the sea he was also the God of earthquakes and horses. When in a good mood he would create new islands and calm seas, when in a bad mood he would struck the ground with his trident and caused chaos, earthquakes, drowning and shipwrecks! He suppose to live in a palace on the ocean floor made of coral and gems.
He was the son of Cronus and Rhea and was married with Amphitrite, daughter of Nereus and Doris.
There are several fountains all over the world with his figure, ”Poseidon/Neptune” namely in Berlin, Rome( famous Trevi’s Fountain) Greece and Portugal (The well known Neptune fountain) in the Palace of Queluz.
