Photo Mom and the 4 cubs -1 by Jim Griffin

Katmai National Park, Alaska. Momma bear seems to ponder while her cubs enjoy playing. The fourth cub, the smallest, is out of view but closeby. Cubs will remain with their mothers for at least 2 - 4 years, and females won't breed again while in the company of their young. Thus, the breeding interval is three or more years between successive litters.

Thanks Blues. I appreciate the wonderful comments and am very grateful for them. I absolutely love shooting wildlife and am fascinated by it. (Both the bears and the other animals) I feel very fortunate to have enjoyed seeing all these great animals out in the wild in their natural habitat. The brown bears of Alaska would certainly be my favorite wildlife.
