notes:
one of the coves in my local area, one of approximately 16 beaches in the gower penninsula in gower, south wales.
I am lucky having such places on my doorstep yet i dont feel i am good enough to capture them yet. However, i am trying and this is one attempt made recently.
This area was popular for wreckers, people who used to hold lanterns in the night to lure shipping in close to the rocks, once run aground, the crews would be killed for the brandy or goods on board the vessel. This area has the second biggest rise and fall tide in the world, and is regarded as one of the most notourious for shipwrecks. hope you enjoy

Rugged and beautiful. I like the way you have captured the light on the rocks in the forground it gives a point of interest before looking off into the distance.

Cracking shot Ric. Nice perspective with the pool and stones in the foreground. The rock looks very different to what we have here.

In the Channel Islands, we also get big tides, the biggest usually in the Autumn. A range of up to 10 metres high to low. We get up to 9 metres on springs for the rest of the year.

The wreckers of old used to do the same thing here. Luring ships to run aground, then plundering the cargo. In more recent times, they don't actually do the luring..... just plunder the cargo, which is maybe a little more civilised. laugh

Happy hunting !

Great angle to include the pool with its reflection and shape that draws the eye back to the water.
