notes:
An old train, serving the local valley's coal mine in years gone by, now waiting to be taken apart, i tried to find beauty in her old dismembered body. healthwise it is good we have stopped our very large coal mine works, but it brings unemployment and misery, as this train found out, it means for the beautiful machines made, and not just the people ! I know this is not technically perfect at all, but it is something i saw meaning in, for me, there is a purpose in this photo.

Good one Ric !, live in an old railroad town myself ,tried to capture some of it a few times and..just not quite happy with it so far, I like the detail in yours and the 'massive, oily' feel of it..
here's mine if you care to take a look.. my variant of the photo

wonderful, very nostalgic image as i'm old enough to remember the 2.6.4T's thundering past our house en route to Dublin, last one decommissioned in 1970, excellent reminder of days past and the quality of metal casting and railroad engineering
