Sintra have bewitched visitors during many, many years because of its mystical hills, where fairytale palaces and exquisite villas can be found, its lush vegetation and a surreal mixture of history and fantasy.
It’s only an easy daytrip from Lisbon but I recommend you to stay overnight in order to experience its magical atmosphere, not only during the day but also at night.
Sintra was declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.
