Urus is one island in widh a Like Titikaka in Peru.
I wos ther in sept-oct 2007. In wonderful Holleday.

Comprises almost 50 floating islands and which are located 10 kilometers from the Port of Puno, in the great Bay of Puno. The inhabitants have consolidated these islands applying layer upon layer, for hundreds of years, of “totora” (weed), that has achieved a special equilibrium and which allows them to live in the middle of lake Titikaka without problems. They are skilled fishermen, taxidermists and artisans.
