This looks like a hover-fly of the species Episyrphus balteatus. I have some photos of this myself that I will be posting soon! This is a great shot, though a minor niggle is the cut-off left wing. I am sure this would sharpen a tad more in Photoshop. Well done though!!

That is some awesome detail. I am so impressed. I wonder what you promised him to make his stay so still. I cab practically count the hairs on his back.
