Windmill
section:
notes:
This Windmill is an ancient typical Portuguese one, to mill the different types of grains that are normally used to obtain flour to make bread.
Nowadays, there are only a few of them in an operational state, like this one.
The rotating (circular) motion, to be transmitted to the millstones zone, is obtained giving a small inclination to the sails (note the way how the sails are fixed on the windmill rig)
This creates a pressure zone on the front of the sails and a depression on its rear, what makes appear the rotational forces, that pushes the sails in a rotational mouvement (in the counter-clockwise direction, on this photo)
The Miller regulates the correct Windmill`s speed, guiding the sails more or less in the wind direction, rotating for that the upper roof part of the Windmill.
