Modesto firefighter douses flames. The two hour fire destroyed Tidewater bridge, built in 1917. The main deck collapsed at about 4pm. No one was injured in the blaze at the trestle. of course hundreds of people watched history getting burned down. It took more then two hours for about 60 firefighters to get the blaze under control.

O WOW !
This is absolutly beautiful picture. Verry dramatic. The colors are great, the violet of the smoke with the orange of the fire.
How come there was a fire ?
The title is also interesting. smile

thx for the comments... I don`t know the cause, they didn`t know at that time. this happened on saturday... maybe by now they know the cause. but one of the speculations was toy airplane that was flying in that area. If someone started this fire, and if they will get caught, they will pay for it big time. yea, i also like the title, lol. thx

Good photojournalism shot, especially since you composed with the firefighters in it. It`s a shame such a beautiful bridge was destroyed for your shot. Are you sure it wasn`t arson??? Hmmm...
