I`m sorry is if you`ve seen it another time: I just finally decided to post other variant: more cropped but with no blur.
Dipsacus is one of my favorites. Though I pull out young plants every year – I have enormous quantity of this biannual plant in my garden. Dipsacus have graceful stem, beautiful blooming garland of flowers that attract a lot of butterflies, then of course – everlasting thorny “cones” of unique shape each. Every September I cut out dry shoots from central stem to put it into vase. Unfortunately cones are very fragile, so I found a way to save they thorns: in my garden I have a little “field” of thyme that serves a perfect “pillow” for fragile cones. Suddenly I found out that it looks great too. I just arranged few shoots and took a photo. That day weather was dull and picture I got had too sorrowful look. Then I discovered for myself that photoshop “dodge tool” can easy replace the sun. It allows to create “sunny” spots! Unfortunately this picture has too much details so even after severe crop and blur along edges, I still managed to save only with quality less than 30. So it looks not as sharp as original photo.

The contrast between the theme and the background is very nice and very well balanced. For me this is an excellent photograph.
My congratulations, MiF

Михаил, а сейчас же можно послать фотку заново при редактировании (если, конечно, хочется).

А старый, ИМХО, был лучше, чем этот отхаракиренный. Сиреневая веточка здесь смотрится уже лишней

A lovely picture of Teasels Mif . There was this other use for them did you know ? They used to Tease the woollen Blankets to bring the Knap ( fluff) up with these Dipsacus heads , hence called Teasel .
A lovely picture and the Teasel is one of my favourites for shape as well as for attracting butterfies

Thank you, Mavis. I have heard that this plant had a similar use in Russia.
